Learn how to get rid of razor bumps today by shaving correctly every time you shave. Many people, mainly people of color or with curly hair get razor bumps a couple of days after they shave. This is for the most part caused by an improper shaving technique.
There are a ton of razor bump products that treat the problem for you. However if you continue to use the wrong techniques while shaving the bumps will keep coming back. If you currently are having problems with razor bumps then it’s a good idea to purchase a product that helps to prevent them. Having less bumps on your skin will lead you to having a better shave.
You should also use a needle nosed tweezer to pull out any hairs that may be embedded underneath the top layers of your skin. Don’t pull the hair all the way out from the root, just take it from underneath your skin. Pulling the hair out from the root could cause an infection.
Although razor bumps can be treated it is a better idea to prevent them from occurring. Try changing up your shaving routine to stop them from occurring.
If you follow the steps I’m about to outline you should see a noticeable difference in your razor bumps in a couple of weeks.
* Get a gentle face scrub and use it to wash your face anytime you are going to shave. The scrub will gently remove layers of skin and this in turn will help you get a closer shave.
* Shaving is best done after showering and not before. Therefore, once you use the face scrub take a hot shower and let the heat open your pores and soften your hair for an easier shave. If you choose to you can heat a towel and// use this to wrap around your face.
* Shaving oil should be used before you shave.
* Use the shaving oil in combo with shaving gel or shaving cream. Try to avoid the foaming shave creams as a non-foaming gel is better for your skin and overall shave.
* Never use an old razor to shave. Using an old razor will only lead to more ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
* Shave in the direction of your hair growth. Never go against the grain.
* After you shave rinse off your face with cold water. The cold water will close your pores after shaving.
* To avoid infection after shaving use a razor bump post shave solution or an astringent such as witch hazel.
* Apply a post shave moisturizer, preferably one that also contains SPF.
It’s often said that the more you shave the more razor bumps you’ll get. In my opinion I think it’s better to shave every other day. I find that when I let my hair grow out I get more bumps.
If you take time to follow these steps every time you shave your bumps will clear in no time.
